It’s actually a brilliant piece of marketing that draws on the fact that Borderlands 2 still draws in many players to this day, which can translate to future players for Borderlands 3. The report goes on to state that this piece of DLC is dropping sometime during E3, where Gearbox will take the stage to promote Borderlands 3. The DLC, titled Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, will allow players to experience Borderlands 2 in its full glory before moving on to Borderlands 3. There’s also the matter of some very special DLC content for Borderlands 2, which is reportedly being developed to bridge the gap between the end of Borderlands 2 and the beginning of Borderlands 3. According to PlayStation Lifestyle with an anonymous source, it would seem that Gearbox Software isn’t only working hard to deliver Borderlands 3 to players worldwide in September. There may be good news incoming, though, especially if you’re a fan of Borderlands 2. Recent controversies involving exclusivity deals with Epic, microtransactions versus “cosmetics that players can purchase,” and a reportedly battered former employee have certainly put a damper on the hype surrounding the title, which is a sequel seven years in the making. As much as a lot of people see the title as just another Borderlands game where there’s a shoot-and-loot mechanic, it’s still undeniable that a lot of people are drawn to the series as a whole.
If there’s one thing that Borderlands 3 needs right now, it’s good press.
